CrossFit Semifinals are set to undergo a significant change this year, particularly for the teams involved. With 30 teams advancing to all Semifinals, a recent email from CrossFit to teams in Europe and Asia disclosed crucial information regarding the upcoming Semifinals.
Teams in these regions will now only be competing over a span of two days, a departure from the traditional three-day format seen in previous years. The competition days for teams will be condensed to Friday and Saturday, with the podium ceremony taking place on Saturday night.
This new development brings a shift from the extended three-day schedule that teams (and individuals) followed in past competitions. Last year, in North America and Europe, teams engaged in competition from Thursday to Saturday, while individuals competed from Friday to Sunday.
While the adjustment in the teams’ schedule has been clarified, questions remain about the potential changes in the individual schedule for this year’s Semifinals. As each Semifinal is presently scheduled from Friday to Sunday, it remains to be seen whether individuals will compete over the full three days or solely on Saturday and Sunday.
