Quarterfinals have officially wrapped up, leaving athletes and fans on the edge of their seats as they eagerly await the final leaderboard rankings. The second and final score submission window for workouts 3 and 4 has come to a close, marking a crucial milestone in the CrossFit competition.
CrossFit wasted no time in initiating the validation process, with the review of video submissions kicking off as soon as the initial score submission window closed. Athletes were promptly required to provide videos of workouts 1 and 2, ensuring transparency and adherence to competition standards.
During the rigorous video review process, CrossFit meticulously examines each submission to confirm compliance with rules regarding set-up, weights, and movement quality. Any deviations could result in penalties ranging from minor adjustments to complete invalidation of an athlete’s score.
Minor penalties may be applied for minor infractions, such as missed reps, resulting in slight score adjustments. Major penalties carry more significant repercussions, potentially modifying an athlete’s score by a substantial percentage. A ‘0’ score is assigned if an athlete fails to meet workout requirements or performs incorrect movements.
The Road Ahead
As the scrutiny intensifies, CrossFit aims to finalize the individual leaderboard by April 29, offering a comprehensive overview of the top-performing athletes. Additionally, Semifinals loom on the horizon, with the top 40 men and women from each region earning a coveted spot in the upcoming in-person competition.
For age group athletes, the journey continues as the top 200 competitors brace themselves for a virtual Semifinals showdown slated for the week of May 8-13. With the stakes higher than ever, the CrossFit community eagerly anticipates the unveiling of the ultimate contenders in this thrilling competition.
