Comprehensive Drug Testing Program for 2024 CrossFit Games
CrossFit has announced the completion of its out-of-competition drug testing program for athletes preparing for the 2024 CrossFit Games. In total, 19 notable athletes were subjected to testing during the off-season, with all results returning negative for banned substances.

The testing was administered by Drug Free Sport International, with samples analyzed at renowned laboratories including the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory and the Sports Medicine Research Testing Laboratory. Every sample collected underwent a thorough examination based on the full World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Out-of-Competition Testing Panel.

CrossFit’s procedure for off-season testing remains consistent with previous years, and in fact, historically, no athlete has tested positive for banned substances during these off-season checks.
Additional Testing Insights
Interestingly, it appears that additional athletes beyond the tested 19 may have faced drug testing. Masters athlete Jason Grubb recently mentioned that he was also tested under CrossFit’s anti-doping initiative, although it remains unclear if any other athletes were tested alongside him.
Moreover, several athletes from the tested list underwent a separate drug testing procedure as part of the World Fitness Project’s program, which also collaborates with Drug Free Sport International. The outcomes of those tests are yet to be announced.
