The Rogue Points System, formerly known as the Rogue Invitational Qualifying System, is set to evolve by adding new competitions to its ranking framework starting in 2025. Athletes will now be able to earn points by participating in events beyond the traditional CrossFit Games season and the esteemed Rogue Invitational. Among the newly recognized competitions are CrossFit’s In-Person Qualifying Events, the World Fitness Project, and TYR Wodapalooza.
Originally introduced last year, the Rogue Points System only utilized events such as the CrossFit Open, CrossFit Quarterfinals, CrossFit Games, and Rogue Invitational for its athlete rankings. Now, with the addition of these new competitions, the points system aims to offer a more comprehensive evaluation of an athlete’s performance across a broader range of events.
Points Allocation and Competition Standards
The maximum points assigned for each event have specific limits based on the level of competition and the strength of the field. The newly added competitions will have distinct point allocations as follows:
- CrossFit Games: 1,000
- Rogue Invitational: 1,000
- CrossFit In-Affiliate Semifinal: 500
- World Fitness Project (New): 350*
- CrossFit Open: 250
- TYR Wodapalooza (New): 250*
- CrossFit In-Person Qualifying Event (New): 100*
- CrossFit Games Win: 100
- Rogue Invitational Win: 100
- Rogue Invitational Participation: 20
*Actual points will be determined based on the strength of the field, specifically the top 30 athletes competing.
Testing Phase for the New Events
Rogue has designated the 2025 TYR Wodapalooza as a testing ground for assigning points based on event strength for both the In-Person Qualifying Events and competitions from the World Fitness Project. It’s important to note that while the Rogue Points System initially awards points based on performances from the past three years, it will not retroactively include results from previous Wodapalooza or Semifinal competitions.
This adjustment in the Rogue Points System not only enhances the competitive landscape for athletes but also aims to provide a more accurate ranking based on a diverse set of competitions leading up to the Rogue Invitational.
